Things to Do in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

So you’re planning your trip to Cabo San Lucas? This is a part of Mexico located on the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula. Part of Los Cabos, Cabo San Lucas is known as a great resort town that draws a party crowd as well as avid & novice fishermen alike. In one direction there’s the ocean and its glorious beaches. In the other direction you can explore the desert and see (or hike) Mount Solmar.

Outdoor Fun

If you’re going to visit Cabo San Lucas what should you see and do while there? For starters, take a boat out to see El Arco, which is a natural archway made of rock jutting up from the ocean floor. Look for sea lions at the base of El Arco, and if you’ve got time, head over to nearby Lovers Beach or Divorce Beach– yes, those are there actual names! At those beaches, do some snorkeling.

Swimming With Sea Life

Are you feeling adventurous? You can actually snorkel near whale sharks thanks to Dive Cabo– from September to May, Dive Cabo takes people to a spot where they’re almost 100% sure of getting up close and personal with whale sharks in the water. Wild, right?

Land Fun

Back on land, you can take ATV tours through the desert, mountains and/or sand dunes thanks to Cactus ATV tours. If you prefer a more natural ride, there are horseback-riding options.

Do you like the idea of shooting along a 4,000-foot zipline at 60 mph? Check out the Cabo Zipline, aka “Superman,” which is Mexico’s longest, fastest and highest zipline.

Remember Sammy Hagar of Van Halen, the rock music group? He opened Cabo Wabo, one of Cabo’s most famous bars back in 1990. Go there to hear live music, people-watch, and enjoy some tequila.

Deep Sea Fishing in Cabo San Lucas

Finally, it wouldn’t be a trip to Cabo without a deep sea fishing adventure! Guerita Sportfishing can take you out on their boat to help you hook Marlin or perhaps Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo or Sailfish. The English-speaking crew aboard the boat Guerita III is reliable and ready to help you find fish on the Sea of Cortez or the Pacific side of Los Cabos.
